How to lose inches

Am I likely to lose weight or inches and get fit on this regime?

I have been following a regime set down by a personal trainer for the last 8 weeks (10 week regime). It's the first time I've done anything like this, although I am a regular gym goer for the last 10 years. The regime is 3 times a week, 5 minute strenous warm up on a bike, 20 minutes high intensity on a stepper (increasing intensity up another level every 3 workouts); fast rowing - increasing distance by 100 metres every 3 workouts & attempting to beat previous speeds; various free weights - squats, dumbell rows etc at increasing weights and reps every 3 sessions. I have cut out processed foods and am veggie so don't eat much fat. I only needed to lose 8lbs but so far have lost no weight, fat or inches, and am tired all the time! I am not anaemic or diabetic. Have I been wasting my time? Should I do another 10 week programme? Thanks!

  2. Your workout should be longer and less intense. Try to increase time rather than intensity. For example, Instead of a 5 min warm up on the bike go 60 min at medium pace. Hit the gym more than 3 days for faster results. Take your vitamins every day. Dont eat so much. You already have what you need for fuel which is the same thing your trying to lose. Drink lots of water. Give me best answer. Within 1-2 weeks you will see results.
  3. Maybe you need a more intense regimen. It takes at least 30 minutes of cardio before you even begin burning fat.
  4. Give it time....How old r u any way? Just because u've been going 2 the gym for 10 years doesn't mean that u r fit as u can clearly c...u r tired most of the times. This regime sounds OK by me (5'11, 180 lbs, diesel body). Either ur metabolism is very slow or u r cheating on the diet ! B honest 2 urself.
  5. Well, I will give your trainer credit for one thing. He/She is packing in a lot of variety in each session. First, I'd say, you're doing a good job with your eating choices. But are you eating enough and eating frequently? If you're working your body harder than you have in awhile, you have to fuel it more, and better than before. The thing about losing weight is that you have to keep your heart rate up to 85% of your heart target rate for most of your workout. Do you check your heart rate while working out? Is up, not up too high, and is it sustained? The other thing is that, experts say, losing those last few pounds can be hard. By the sounds of it, the shock your body is being put through doing this bootcamp style of workout just isn't working for you. I am a big fan of the personal trainer Jillian Michaels. She wrote a book called "In The Cut" about losing the last few pounds. You might want to check it out.
  6. Stick to this. Your personal trainer seems to know what he/she is doing. Have you tested your fat percentage before and after? I'm sure there is a significant difference. One suggestion is to eat more frequently. Eat small portions every 2-3 hours during the day - from 7:00 to 7:00. This will keep your metabolism up and give you enough energy. By all mean do the next 10 weeks..and check your fat% before you start. Good Luck. PS: I believe you said the whole truth about your diet. Most people convince themselves the small cheat meals that they have have no effect, but boy are they wrong!
  7. i think u don't need a trainer to show u the way u r gym goer so be ur self and try to worm up for 5min and then take the bike for 30min for random exercise and after that go the mills for another 30min and u have to make a target for the calories that u will need to burn in the exercise so go and programe ur self with ur enjoyable workout that will take the fat .
  8. if you really want to lose your weight, don't worry.exercise daily with some hard workouts ,drink fresh jucies.if you want more details view the website
