  1. It all depends... on a lot of things. How much you eat, if your eating right. If your only do 80 situps a day, and not changing your food intake or anything, it could take a long time.
  2. Do cardio and eat healthy... Doing 10000 sit ups a day won't do anything
  3. one does not affect the other, you cannot spot reduce. just lose weight.
  4. If 80 sit ups a day is all the cardio you're doing, it'll probably take forever. The abs underneath the 2 inch layer of fat will be toned though.
  5. i have no idea, but you should do more than just sit ups
  6. Try it and find out >.<
  7. you'll need to do about 200 then you'll notice
  8. well, one minute of sit-ups burns about 12 calories and I do about 20 a minute, fairly vigerous, so you would burn 50 calories each time you did it, so, one pound of fat, is about 3,000 calories a day, and give or take a little, an inch of fat is about 5 pounds. So...20 days, 1 pound, 100 days, 5 pounds, or 1 less inch, so 200 days, or about 7 months. Hmm, a little depressing, but if you add a little more exercise to that, it would go ohh so much quicker. Good luck!
  9. I did 150-200 a night for a month to lose 1 inch. So my guess would be 3 months.
  10. There's only one way to find out.
  11. situps won't make you lose 2" on your belly.... CARDIO will. go running, biking, hiking. That will make you lose weight around everything. situps will just give you a stronger core. And once the fat is gone, situps will help give you a more toned looking abs.
  12. Losing your belly will have less to do with targeted exercises than doing some weight training. If you don't have any dumb bells or access to a gym pick up some resistance bands (they are very inexpensive) and work not just on your ab area but also work your upper and lower body. By strengthening all your large muscles your body will begin to burn more calories each day. The more calories you burn, the faster your fat deposits will shrink. The work on the intensity of your workouts. Everyone keeps on saying cardio and basic cardio isn't going to get you anywhere. You need to put some bursts of energy into your cardio. For example: if you are planning on walking, don't just go at the same speed, speed, slow down-keep on changing it up. These extra bursts will help burn more calories. The instead of sit ups or crunches do push-aways and the bicycle and hit a total of 50 of each exercise. If you have more time add it to your weight training and not the cardio or targeted exercises. Most will see some visible results in 4 weeks, much more noticeable in 6 weeks and very good results in 8 weeks--this is if you keep it up and don't start to slack off. 2 inches isn't much so if you cut out the junk food, do some weight or resistance training, about 15 minutes a day of cardio (no you don't need to do cardio for 45 minutes to get results) then spend 10 minutes on targeted ab workouts and you'll see results very quickly.
