How to lose inches/weight fast, but without fasting?
Hey, I'm 15. 5'6", and 142 lbs. I would love to be down to 130 by September 4th, if that is possible, then be down to 120 by Octobe 10th or so. I've already lost...four pounds in the last two days by cutting my calorie intake into about half. That isn't saying much though, since swim season jsut ended, and I've decided to take a month off from training with the team, which is what most people do. I was eating about 3,500 calories a day before this point. I already feel completely hungry, but am determined not to eat until dinner in about two hours. Any advice? Should I continue to drop my calorie intake until I reach about 1200 per day, or maybe even 1000? I won't be training for three hours a day like I used to, but I hope to get into the water about three hours a week. Should I also start jogging? I get evil shin splints, and my knee is all messed up though. What about a decent diet? I would love to be down below 130 by the time school starts, but I'm afraid I started too late....

- Never drop your daily calorie intake lower than 1200 calories. Also, if you're used to typically eating 3500 calories, you would do great on around 1800-2000 calories and still lose weight because you have dropped your calories. It's a bit of a stretch to try to lose 12 lbs. in one month. Normal weight loss is 1-2 lbs. a week. What you're losing right now from cutting your calories back is mostly water weight. Continue with a good cardio routine 3-6 days a week for about 30-45 minutes a day and add in weight training 2-3 days a week for about 45 minutes each. Protein, carb, and healthy fat with each meal, eat every 2-3 hours, and plenty of water. You'll be amazed at what you can do before school starts, especially since you're usually very active. Just keep the calories up or it will mess with your metabolism.
- Eat fruits, vegetables and drink lots of water....ofcourse do Cardio
- It doesn't seem like you need to lose that much weight. i would definitely caution you again dropping your calorie intake to 1000 calories a days. Just insure that you are taking in foods that are healthy like vegetables, fruit, protein and foods like multi-grain breads that are high in fiber. (Foods high in fiber make you feel full sooner than those that have little or no fiber.) Try to stay away from processed carbs and salty foods as foods like these cause weight gain and water retention. Finally, increase your activity level. Do something you enjoy so you stick to it. The key to losing weight is to burn more calories and take in less. Good luck!
