Losing weight too quickly?

I was never "fat", but was starting to get a little gut from a diet that was high in carbs generally and processed sugar specifically. For two weeks I cut out roughly 95% of carbs, eliminating breads and pastas, candy, donuts, sodas and almost all processed sugar (I still put Splenda in my coffee). I eat meat and eggs, veggies and some fruit. I drink whole milk but otherwise avoid dairy. I'm 5 feet 11 inches tall with a small frame, and in the past two weeks I've gone from 176 pounds to 165. Is this weight loss too fast, or is it healthy? My target weight is 150 pounds.

  1. I think you will be alright, your body is getting used to the variety of foods you are eating...at least you know you are eating the right things that make you lose weight
  2. WOW, good job, you must working really hard at it... but they do say that 3lbs per week is healthy.
  3. so you basically went on the first phase of the south beach diet. and its normal for you to loose that much during the first phase. if you continue to add whole grains slowly you will still continue to loose just not as much.
