  1. I have lost a total of 120 pounds so far. I lost 105 pounds in my first 6 months. Here is how I did it. 1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism. 2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed). 3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water. It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me. Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!! http://www.calorieking.com A sight with some really cool diet calculators and interesting calorie counting calculators is here. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk. Good LUCK!
  2. cut way way down on carbs and cut sugar out completely. well after reading the response above mine - i feel inspired - excellent idea to jump start your metabolism by walking - hope i have the courage to do that.
  3. That is a normal weight for your height. Don't try to lose weight. Just eat healthy and stay active.
  4. Hunny your 12. Enjoy life while you can. If you really truley want to lose the weight you'll keep with the fucking program.
  5. OK, why in the WORLD do you think you're overweight? Holy crap.
  6. i feel your pain sister
  7. The quickest way would be to move out on your own and try to pay bills on your own. Somehow, food gets least priority when you're just trying to keep a roof over your head and wheels to take you to and from work.
  8. Ok, you're just plain thin as it is.
  9. First of all, I don't think you're overweight. Maybe a bit plump or chubby or whatever but not overweight. Secondly, stop eating bad food. Thirdly, sounds like you just need to exercise more. Maybe you should join the soccer or track team or something like ...
  10. Honey, I wouldnt worry about your weight like you are. Your weight is in the healthy zone. Check this out: http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/dnpabmi/Calculator.aspx For children and teens, overweight is defined differently than it is for adults. Because children are still growing, and boys and girls develop at different rates, BMIs for children 2-20 years old are determined by comparing their weight and height against growth charts that take their age and gender into account. A child's "BMI-for-age" shows how his or her BMI compares with other girls or boys of the same age. A child or teen who is between the 85th and 95th percentile on the growth chart is considered at risk of overweight. A child or teen who is at the 95th percentile or above is considered overweight. Ask your family doctor, pediatrician, or other health care provider about your child's BMI-for-age. But you want to stay active. That means not sitting around playing sega or playstation. Get into a sport like soccer, basketball, dancing, etc.,. You can even take up track and field or speed walking if you like to do that. I say don't worry about your weight so much, you are only 12 and your body is changing so much right now. And will continue to change for a few more years.
  11. You have about 6 months till your trip. That is plenty of time to do this the healthy way. You say you make an exercise plan, then stop. Have you tried progress charts, or a reward system? Try working out with a friend, but don't over do it. Vary your exercise plan too, so that you don't get bored with your routine too quickly. Try a lot of cardio workouts (generally involes a lot of running or activity) that are incorporated into play. If you can swim and have pool access, that's even better. Swimming will work all of your muscles, and it is easier on the joints. As for the healthy eating, you're likely doing it wrong. there are a lot of different diets out there, and many of them restrict a lot of foods, foods that you crave. Why not give in to them every now and then, without over indulging. Snack throughout the day (fruits and vegetables, or other healthy snack foods) and you should have fewer hunger cravings, plus you should eat smaller meals. If you make a diet plan that restricts foods, you'll either eat a lot of that food before you start or after you finish, and that solves nothing. Eat, but don't over eat. The last things I'll say is that you're 12, you're about on track for your height, and your body is going to start going through a lot of changes. As you enter and progress through your teens, you're not likely to look the same. Plus, you're going to Mexico . . . how often do you plan on going back and seeing the same people. You're not likely to see many of those people again, so who cares what they think. Enjoy your childhood while you have it.
  12. Just lose 10 lbs will do. Remember you are still growing and soon your taller height will offset those extra pounds you have now. Try these 1) Eat 5 to 6 times a day. 2) Eat lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs (low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein.) 3) Reduce sugar intake and simple carbs. They make you hungry fast.Cut junk food . 4) Take 2 to 3 cups of low fat milk, cheese, yoghurt. 5) Do an exercise that you like. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and an hour brisk walk every weekday morning. And I am still at 108 lbs since I lost 31 lbs one year ago.
