How to lose inches

How to lose inches and weight but not gain muscle?

I already carry a lot of bulky muscle from volleyball, but i want to lose weight and if possible some muschle. If i run for 60mins straight a day at a relatively moderate speed, not fast can i lose weight and inches without gaining more muscle? basically, i want to exercise, like something more than pilates, to lose weight but i dont want my legs to get bulkier from the workouts.

  1. Riding a bike.
  2. The muscles will shrink if you cut back on the exercise a bit. Why bother, though? Defined muscles look great and are usually signs of good health.
  3. run on a tredmill fatty
  4. it's impossible. Running builds good leg muscles. Don't even bother trying to lose fat without gaining muscle. It won't work.
  5. Doing any kind of exercise you will gain muscle, but the more endurance oriented the better. This will mainly tone the muscle you have limit the build up of new muscle. Also, be sure the strech well to promote the muscle to develop as lean as possible.
  6. just eat healthy foods and walk for 60minutes a day..... drink plenty of water..... and you wont gain muscle but youll loss body fat
  7. There are alot of lengthening excersizes, like pilates and yoga, which can help you lose the lbs but make you long and lean. Also when you work out remember more reps less sets and low weight. That keeps you from gaining muscle and works your muscles out in a lean way. This is why you only see body builders doing heavy lifting with fewer reps and more sets. Running is good for that also. You just need to use something like an eliptical so you arent forcing your calves to work out too hard.
  8. Honestly, the key to success in ANY weight loss endeavor is a combination of cardio and muscle workouts. Muscle burns more calories pound for pound, which means you will burn more calories everyday, even sitting on a couch (which I don't recommend). If you really feel you want to LOSE muscle, which I also don't recommend, not exercising your muscles will work, and running is key. When you don't use the muscles, they gradually atrophy. Remember, muscle is good, and a lot of people are envious of the way your muscular body is... why do you want to lose it?
  9. if you run/jog that much every day, you will get lean very quickly/less than a month.
  10. okay you see, the only way to lose weight is to work out right? working out will make you build muscle FIRST, then you will lose the fat. the fat in your body covers your muscles, so in order to lose the fat, you keep working out, running is a great way to do this, but of course, you will tone your muscles.
  11. I think you should definitely do a lot of stretching, jogging long distances, or just jogging. When you do lunges and squats, dont do it too often. In fact, do them for only on three days a week. OR else your thighs are going to thicken up. The same thing goes to crunches. Do them too often will thicken your waist even if it gives you a flat abs.
  12. Stretches. It will tone your body and make it lean, not bulky.
  13. cardio exercise (like running) is burning calories and gives you lean muscle dont do heavy weight exercise (if any)
  14. Set a realistic weightloss goal. To loose 1 pound of muscle, 3 pounds of fat will be burnt. You cant change that - its thermodynamics. You can marginally tilt that ratio in favour of muscle burn by doing anaerobic exercises - like your volleyball (No aerobic stuff like running, swimming & cycling. These are slowburn & burn fat first). Thirdly, eat less than you do now & keep it low carb. (a motivated weight loser can do with 60% of his regular diet)
