Why am I losing weight but no inches?

I've recently lost 10 pounds over the course of three weeks through diet and exercise. I eat a healthy balanced diet and work on cardio and light weights. I also do sit-ups in hopes that I can tighten my belly area. I keep track of my measurements to see if I've lost any inches, but I've yet to lose any! I'm exactly the same as when I started, only 10 pounds lighter. Why is this?

  1. Did you measure your chest/butt/thigh area? Maybe you lost inches there. Overall I would say not to worry! I have a friend who lost like 90 lbs, and she told me that her stomach area was the LAST place she lost inches (and now she looks amazing by the way..). I'm guessing you don't have as much weigh as my friend to lose, but even so, I can tell you from my own experience that it took me about a month before I lost ANY weight at all (not to mention inches!). But after the first month I lost weight really quickly. In 3.5 months, I lost 30 lbs and like 5-6 inches off my waist alone... If you keep your efforts up, you WILL lose more weight AND inches (its PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE not to...trust me...). Good luck ;)
