  1. muscle. You could change fat to lean muscle, look thinner, but at the same time have lost no weight.
  2. eat special k cereal
  3. wear a corset
  4. Although muscle is heavier than fat it is reasonable to assume they are trading one for the other. Over the short run the only other possibility would be a higher loss of fluids due to a higher metabolism.
  5. You are experiencing some real life. It is possible that their metabolism is higher than yours. It is possible that they are not eating as much as you think when you are not with them. It could be that they are practicing some MOST unhealthy behaviors. It could be that while you are eating at the same time and at the same table, their selections are different than yours. Namely, are they eating more protein, fewer sugars, fewer starches, and fewer quick carbs both when you are present and/or when you are not? Are you drinking more soda or lattes than they? Lets say that you all practice for a total of 3-400 calories. Lets say that everything you eat and drink is the same as they with the exception that you have an extra soda every day. - Now look at the nutritional information on your can of soda. One 8 ounce serving runs how many calories and how many servings are in a can? You have just traded the energy burn from one practice for that extra can of soda.
  6. They are losing fat and building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less space. They might possibly be doing a strength training program as well.
