Losing Inches?
Does losing inches depend on how many pounds you lose? I'd like to lose at least four inches from my hip, how long would this take? What can I do? (I have about two spare hours a day and the only real exercise equipments I have are my jump rope and exercise ball)

- eat less
- I don't know but I'll keep a look out to your question I'd like to know too
- no losing inches has to do with toneing up the area with muschle, which may even mean gaining weight squats, leg lifts, lunges
- well you can do the ball for one hour and the rope for 1 hour or you could do more hours if u want
- no, losing inches does not correlate with the amound of pounds you lose. You may lose a ton of inches but maybe gained 1 pound...that could be because you have gained muscle which weighs more than fat. Muscle burns more calories than fat so it's working harder for your body. Don't judge success by the number on the scale, judge it by how your clothes are fitting you.
- Answering your first question, no. Gaining muscle will help lose inches yet you may not lose much weight. Running and jump rope is good. Look up "swiss ball" on the internet for exercises with your ball. I have one and it's great for ab work.
- bones also.
- I advocate long-distance swimming; you only need enough water to support you while you tether yourself and swim in-place -- if you are a little way offshore you can't tell if you are moving anyway. Just swim as far as you can without quitting. The trick is to not hold your breath; exhale while you face is in the water. You will soon be able to swim for hours.
