What can I do better to lose ACTUAL pounds?
I've been going to the gym three to four times a week. Spin class twice a week. Elliptical for an hour the other days with crunches and weights. I wouldnt go crazy and say my diet is great but i'm carfeul with portions and actual choices. I dont believe fast food is a healthy choice by any means. I'm a 14 and I want to be a 10 by July, i've been going since October and all i've lost is inches, no pounds.. What can I do!!?

- Try the You diet. Do you have time to do anything else but exercise? You wore me out with all that stuff.
- Whatever you do, don't stop exercising. It's one of the best things you can do. Find yourself a wellness coach who can recommend healthy eating habits. http://www.diet101.org
- go to www.sparkpeople.com and enter everything in and they'll give you a meal plan. try drinking more water. also, i heard of a mixture that if you drink it every morning half an hour before you put ANYTHING in your mouth (even a tooth brush), it'll help you lose fat. here it is: mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with a pinch of ginger, a teaspoon or 2 of honey and some hot water. it might taste a little weird, so don't add too much water. it'll take a while obviously to see results, but if you continue what you are doing along with drinking that, it'll speed it along. don't stop exercising! good luck!
- If you are exercising that much and losing "inches" then you may have gained muscle (which is heavier than the fat you lost). Why do you care so much about the clothing size?
- I have the same goal that you do, to get from a size 14 to about a size 10 by this summer and I understand your frustration. I have cut way back on junk food, decreased my portions sizes and started exercising. I lost 10-15 pounds really quickly and then, nothing. However, I continue to lose inches. Keep doing what you've been doing. As long as you are decreasing your caloric intake and excercising enough to burn the fat, you will meet your goal. Don't stress over the pounds. No one will know what you weigh except you. How you look and feel are much more important than what the scale says. You are undoubtly creating muscle mass through your exercise and muscle weighs more than fat. The fact that you are losing inches shows that you are on the right track. If you are losing inches, you are losing the fat. I don't know what size you were before, but the only way to go from a 14 to a 10 is to lose the inches. Eventually the amount of muscle mass you are creating through excercise will be less than the amount of fat you are burning and your weight will start to drop again until you reach a healthy weight.
