How to lose inches

How can I lose a few pounds?

I am thirteen & I weigh 128.4 pounds (just weighed myself). I am about five feet four inches tall & need to lose some weight. What are some easy ways for me to drop about ten pounds? & please don't tell me I don't need to lose weight cause that doesn't answer my question.

  1. Being as straight forward as possible : eat less work more
  2. run, bike, do cardio
  3. limit yourself to one junk food every other day.
  4. cut back a little bit (like 10%) of what you normally eat and do some excersise
  5. drink olny water
  6. eat a piece of fruit an hour before you eat so you're not as hungry and you eat smaller portions. Also, go to mypyramid.gov and you can type in age, weight, height and it'll give you a personalized diet and exercise plan just for you.
  7. You could try eating only raw food, drinking at least 8 servings of water a day, and running for about 30 minutes each morning. Also, eat smaller meals more often. Hope this helps! :-)
  8. Eat lots of veggies, drink lots of water and exercise
  9. u can rent sum dance tapes from the library and do them every day after skool. maybe even watch a tape or sumthin where they teach u a dance routine or try to learn a dance routine from a favorite dance. its a suuuuuuuuper fun way to lose weight and excersize. hope that helps!!! :)
  10. do what i do when i need to lose a few pounds in a day or two, put some layers of clothes on and a trash bag, run around and then start drilling and wrestling
  11. I am the same age as you and I know you dont want me to say it but yeah you really dont have to lose weight at all and I weight so much more than you but if you want to you should Jog with a dog if you have one or just walk around your town and eat the right foods that you know are good for you
  12. One thing you can do (which is also healthy) is to drink only water, and lots of it. No diet pop, or anything like that. I dropped ten pounds in a matter of months, didn't change my diet, just drank lots and lots of water.
  13. go for a run, DO NOT STOP EATING! just eat healthier...also u can eat whatever u want but take a little bit less than u usually do. have more fiber. dancing is actually really good too..it'll get u lean and u'll lost weight of course. oh and also drink more water! it washes out the crap in ur body..not completely obviously but it is good to drink a lot of water. hope that helped! good luck!
  14. In order to lose weight, you need will power and organization. Write down what you eat usually everyday, and stop eating 500 calories worth of food. If you do this continuously, you can lose a pound or two every week. Even though it doesnt seem like a lot, it will add up. On another note, being anorexic or bulimic won't help. Personally, I have been bulimic and lost a couple pounds to it. However, I have been mentally weak. It was hell for me. I think I'm insane now. If you want to lose more pounds, exercise. Play DDR, run, jog, play a sport in school. Anything to keep you moving for at least half an hour everyday. Best of luck
  15. You're still in school..or should be- try out for wrestling or some other sport. Get interested in something that gets you outside. Even if its on your own- try and get a bike, rollerblades or a skate board- all excellent forms of exercise. Find someplace you like to go and walk there everyday. Tell your parents that you're weight conscience. Watch your diet. Keep your head up.. youre young!
  16. i've heard proportioning works good. you eat what you want, just don't go for seconds.
  17. start a cardio program working between 60-80% of your maximum heart rate (which is 207; you do the math). do cardio 3-4 times per week and vary what you do (bike, stairs, rowing, elliptical, treadmill). for the other 2-3 days begin a weight training regimen. you will build some muscle which will in turn burn more calories when you are not working out. fyi if you are a female you won't get big because you don't have enough testosterone. begin a healthy diet, don't consume more than 2000 calories a day, but don't go under 1600 calories a day, and switch from drinking sodas to water. make sure you stretch before (hold for 3 seconds) and after workouts (hold for 10-30 seconds). good luck!!!
  18. Well, if you're really that concerned, the best and easiest method for someone your age is to eat less proportions. Now, that's not to say skip out on meals, it's just to say when you want to take that extra spoon full of ice-cream (or any other food item like an extra fist full of Cheetos or two packs of ramen instead of one, etc.) just instead put it back. That is the number one way that people loose weight (along with exercise).
  19. The best way is to adjust your intake of calories and compare that with how many calories you are burning with exercise. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and drink lots of water, since the fruits and vegetables will cause your blood sugar and other nutrients to maintain a healthy balance and help you to feel full longer. Try to decrease the amount of saturated fats in your diet... if they are solid at room temperature, they are saturated, but don't eliminate all fats since they are needed for certain vitamins. Also don't eliminate carbohydrates from your diet, since these are needed for nervous system function. When you do eat carbs, try to focus on whole grains, for example whole wheat bread and brown rice. Beans and other legumes are also very good for protein, rather than eating red meats which tend to have a lot of saturated fats. Most importantly though... exercise. Even if you do an hours worth of house cleaning or go for a mile walk, just get your heart rate elevated for a little bit each day. You'll get there, you'll probably lose between .5-2 lbs per week, but don't get discouraged if it's less. Everyone is different! :-)
  20. Get some type of exercise for about 30 minutes a day. Eat healthy. I lost about 14 pounds in 6 weeks eating foods high in protein and fiber while also trying to cut carbs where possible and getting 2 hours of exercise 3 days a week. Don't drink soda - just water, flavored water, and health drinks and shakes. Be patient, it's a little slow at first but then it'll start coming off. You will likely reach a plateau about 10 pounds in but continue doing what you are doing and you'll start dropping again. Expect about 2-3 lost pounds per week. Anything faster isn't healthy and won't be long term. Good luck with your program and remember to stick to it.
  21. Excercise everyday and eat right if you're serious about being fit! And I mean you must exercise for at least an hour and a half everyday, and not eat junk food (chips, candy, hamburgers, tacos, fries, milkshakes, soda, fried foods) until you're satisfied with your weight and look. GO DO IT! BAM!!!
  22. eat right. is the key. when I went on my diet I ate fruit, salad(fat free dressing) and watched eating carbs. also I worked out alot. I ran religiously. along with weight training. if your looking just to drop weight use light weights if you going that route. but all in all eat right and do cardio. OH I forgot to mention if you drink soda. DROP IT. move to things like GatorAde or power ade also natural juice is good and you can never go wrong with water. Try to stay away from fast food. GOOD LUCK!! stay healthy
  23. ok. im 13 too. try this. it worked for me. one night, over the summer, my parents made me go out on a walk with them (they said i dont spend enough time with them). we were walking around the track behind our school. i just decided to randomly run. i ran a complete mile. without stopping. it was the first time i had ever ran a mile without stopping and i hadn't ran at all for like 4 months! it felt sooo good. i went back the next night and ran another mile. i kindof got addicted. not to the running, but to the feeling of setting a goal and achieving it. now, its winter and even though its really cold, i put on sweats and run like 3 miles! i lost 10 pounds in the first month i started running. now im actually skinny, like my friends. i used to be over 200 pounds in the summer, and now im down to 170. (and that's not fat, cause im 6 feet tall) you should try it. or join your track team this spring or something. :-)
  24. The best and easiest way to lose weight and keep it off is to stop the junk food/fast food. Eat a good breakfast, unsweetened cereal with 1% milk. Wheat toast with light butter, just a light coating, with reduced fat peanut butter. A glass of juice, calcium fortified--no sugar added, and a piece of fruit. Hot cooked oatmeal is an option. Don't skip lunch. Have a sandwich with light mayo and 2 or 3 slices of low fat lunch meat, like deli sliced ham or turkey. Lettuce if you like. A piece of fruit, such as an apple or pear. Milk--1% is okay, but you are in your growing years, so 2% would be better. You need the calcium for your bones and teeth. Afternoon snack, 15 almonds, walnuts or half an apple. Nuts contain fat, but it is good fat. Dinner, eat a sensible meal. Meat, potatoes, vegie, fruit, and yes, a glass of milk. Skip the gravy and the butter. Snack before bed? Skinny cow brand ice cream products are weight watcher approved. I think you get the idea on eating. No skipping meals, drink milk for calcium, and so you stay hydrated at least 8 glasses of water a day. Yes, you'll probably have to run to the bathroom alot, but you will be flushing out all those toxins and staying hydrated. Portion control also helps. 3 oz of meat is about the size of a deck of cards. I measure my vegies and fruits to 1/2 cup each. Stay away from cream soups if possible, or only have 1/2 cupful, same with creamy gravies. Go with mom to the grocery store and read the labels on canned foods. If you stick with 5 grams of fat and lower in a food (that's in one serving) you will lose weight. (My DH is on a low fat/no fat diet so I read labels all the time). You may want to help prepare meals so you know what goes in your mouth. Fresh fruits and vegies are the best for you, and you should eat lots. Fresh cooked without much sugar and very little butter are 2nd best, but don't forget you need protein, too. And that you get from meats, fish, most beans, and nuts. Now that you get the idea about food, let's talk about excercise. Get off the couch and take the dog for a walk/run. Teenagers need alot of excercise just to stay healthy. it's good for your lungs, bones, muscles, skin, and surprisingly, your digestive system! Best excercise you can do is walk. Briskly. Swing your arms in time to the music(you do have tunes, don't you?). Don't fall for those fad diets. You will lose weight, but once you stop the boring diet, the weight will come back on. Eating healthy and losing weight is a commitment and a lifestyle change. I'm sure there are websites for diets and excercises the healthy way. I just don't know of any, but you can do a search. Good luck and stay healthy. N
