How to lose inches

Can lose inches without losing weight?

Okay, so I and 5'7 and I probably weigh somewhere between 120-125 pounds. I am also 17 years old. I was wondering if I can lose i inches off my stomach, thighs, and arms, without losing weight. What would it take for me to do this?

  1. You can get rid of the inches by losing some fat (cardio), and keep the weight up by gaining muscle (light weights for toning). Muscle weighs more than fat anyway. I'm no personal trainer, but that's what I would try.
  2. Yes, it is possible; you would have to tone your muscles. Just look up exercises to do. Like, for your stomach, you could do crunches. I like my body, but I have some extra fat on my lower stomach, so I do 500 crunches a day, splitting them up into sets of 50 or 100. In 2 weeks, I've seen a dramatic difference-- I've dropped a whole jean size! I haven't checked my weight though, so I don't know if I gained/lost weight or stayed the same-- numbers aren't important, its how you look and feel. For your thighs, I might do squats or step-ups (get a stool, step up onto it with one leg, step up with the other, step down with one, then the other, repeat). For arms, maybe wall push-ups (put your palms against a wall or a flat surface parallell to your body when you're standing, stand back a bit but keep your palms pressed to the wall, do a push up against the wall) or lift weights (a 5-10 lb-er will do). Good luck, I hope you get the results you want. :]<3
