does becoming a vegetarian make you lose inches?
I was wanting to try out becoming a vegetarian, for a diet, and I was wandering if it helped you lose inches in your stomach.. or, i guess your whole body?

- Only if you eat healthily and exercise. You can be a vegetarian and still eat tons of pasta, creamy sauces, sugary drinks, white bread, cheese, chocolate.....the list is endless! Being vegetarian is not the same as being healthy.
- no, no, no
- No way I knew this fat chick that was a "vegan". but yet she was the size of an elephant.
- It depends on how much calories you take in. Vegetables help you to prevent side effects of dieting as it contains lots of fibers. Fruits and vegetables are available such that you take lots of them without adding much calories in your dish.
- You have to make smart food choices, just as any other lifestyle. It's very possible to vegan and vegetarian and never touch a vegetable or fruit ever. There is lots of junk food out there, so you have to be responsible. If you are looking to lose weight on a veg. diet, be aware of sugars, enriched flour products (such as white breads, white rice, and white pastas), try to avoid prepackaged foods, and don't eat too much dairy because it is the worst thing for your body with all its cholesterol, saturated fats, and hormones. After all, dairy is essentially a fluid that is produced to fatten young mammals. Good Luck!!
- it would be the same as meat eaters. eat good, and look good...eat bad, and look bad. ive been veg for about 5 months now and ive only lost about 7 lbs.
- i dont know if it'd change you physically but it dose make you a h*ll of a decent person :)
- I used to eat meat, then I became a vegetarian, and then a vegan. I noticed no change whatsoever in my weight or stomach width. I think that is because even when I ate meat, most of my calories did not come from meat or dairy products. So I think the answer is no, but it would probably depend on the individual. If you were a vegan on a strict diet, you would probably lose weight and body fat.
- ofcourse it does
- No because you can still eat crisps and all that stuff, i mean yeah sure it's healthier but i can't say i've lost weight. x
- I gained weight but for other people yes I think they do lose inches.
- Lowering calorie intake and exercising loses inches.
