- When we want to get rid of body fat, there is no way to specifically burn fat from one part of the body. Doing situps won't burn the fat that is covering your abs and doing tricep extensions won't get rid of the fat that is covering your triceps. The only thing you can do is lose weight all around and eventually the problem area will also improve. The way to burn fat is through a calorie restricted diet in conjunction with an exercise routine that will burn calories. Activities that burn calories include running, biking, swimming and other high intensity activities. Guide to Reducing Body Fat - http://straighthealth.com/pages/guides/reducebodyfat.html
- exercise
- start jogging, for about 20 minutes a day
- work out everyday and just eat cereal for breakfast and lunch and then eat salads for dinner. It does work
- drink a TON of water, go to the gym every day, do sit ups, cruches...leg lifing while your hands are under your butt while you are laying on your back, eat fruits and veggies... or you could go to gnc and buy one of those "miracle, liquid weight loss" things.... lol Good Luck!
- Cut refined sugars (that means all corn syrups, white sugar and soda) and hydrogenated oils and fats out of your diet. You won't starve, i promise. Make sure to drink tons of water.
- you can't spot reduce... you'd just have to diet and exercise.
- I guess the only thing is to go on a diet, like veggies only. drink water, no sugar, do sit ups and run a lot. That would probably do it. It made me loose weight in the past but I don't know how much in a week. It is defenetly a pretty good program I think.
- Eat a lot of salads, fruits & banana's. Speed walking is a good exercise to burn fat. But I can't see 3-5 inches disappearing in just one week. Also, just a side note, a fruit & vegetable diet is gonna give you gas like you've never had before...
- do your every day activities, except when you go to eat make sure they're healthy foods.....and do the things you do every day but turn them into a fun way to exercise!
- Good old fashioned WORK - diet and exercise. First, get a check up to make sure you're in good health. While you're there, consult your doctor for the best diet and exercise programs that may work for you. Next, pick something and stick to it. Weight loss questions have been asked here before, many times, and it may serve you to review them. However, I will add that rapid weight loss is dangerous to your health. ______________________ When Fast Weight Loss Becomes Unhealthy By Tony Robinson You've made the decision to lose weight as quickly as possible. You have your diet in place and you expect to follow it religiously. At this point, you may be wondering how much weight you can lose in a given week and whether fast weight loss can be dangerous for your body. There are a number of things that can affect your weight loss. For instance, family history, or genetics, can play a significant role. Also, your weight loss may depend upon how much exercise you're engaging in, as well as how much stress you are under. Your metabolism, or how quickly you burn calories, can also have a major effect. Theoretically, you could lose as much as 20 pounds a week. However, much of that weight could be water weight. That means that, once you go off your diet, you are likely to gain much of that weight back. Also, unless you engage in strength training, you will be losing muscle as well as fat, since about ΒΌ of the body's weight consists of muscle. It is interesting to note that, at most, you can probably lose four pounds of fat in a given week. Nature has a way of protecting the body against excessive weight loss. If, for instance, your calorie count suddenly drops, your body will compensate for the fact by reducing your metabolic rate. As a result, you'll need fewer calories to maintain your weight. This explains why some people lose weight up to a point and then cannot lose any additional weight, no matter how hard they try. If you lose weight quickly, there's a good chance that your health will be jeopardized. For instance, fast weight loss has been linked to the appearance of gall stones. Also, you may experience loose skin as your weight goes into free fall. Perhaps most distressing of all, if you experience rapid weight loss, there's a good chance that you will gain the weight back again. This is because it is very difficult to maintain a healthy diet regimen. You may find yourself falling back into your bad eating habits after a period of deprivation. Fast weight loss also places you at greater risk for an eating disorder. You may be tempted to starve yourself, leading to anorexia. Or, because your food cravings are so great, you may want to binge and purge, leading to a case of bulimia. This is why it is so critically important to lose weight under a physician's care. Otherwise, you could be doing more harm to your body than good. Although the body has the capability of shedding a great deal of weight over a period of time, most medical experts agree that one should not expect to lose more than one or two pounds a week in order to remain healthy. This can be disappointing to a dieter, especially one that needs to lose about 50 pounds. However, doctors believe that the go-slow approach is best for long-term weight loss. Otherwise, you could end up with a number of health problems you weren't anticipating. There are a number of approaches you can use to lose weight. For instance, you might follow the Atkins plan, the Zone, or the diabetic diet. You might try Sugar Busters or the Carb Addict's prescription for losing weight. However, it is vitally important that you accompany your diet plan with an effective exercise routine. One of the best exercises you can do, in fact, is the easiest--walking. It has been said that you can lose as many as two pounds a week, just by walking alone. As has been demonstrated here, rapid weight loss should be approached with caution. It is far better to lose a few pounds each week and maintain that weight loss over the long term. In essence, all good things take time, and that is particularly true when it comes to weight loss. Perhaps the best advice is to be patient. Follow a reasonable diet, get plenty of exercise, and drink a good amount of water. That way, you should be able to slowly lose weight--without jeopardizing your health in the process. _________________ See link below.
- I personally would have to say that doing so would be almost impossible, if not, very unhealthy. As many have said, you want to lose body-fat, not muscle mass which is what a lot of weight-loss supplements tend to do. In my opinion, just to say you lost weight, isn't enough to do it in an unhealthy way. I'm sure you could kick off a good 5-8 lbs with some good cardio and healthy eating, but that's really something that should be a goal over a few months.
- The fat that surrounds the gut (the ventral fat deposit) is almost always the last to be reduced, no matter what diet you're trying. You will NOT be able to reduce three inches in a week without doing harm to your body and irreparable damage to your metabolism. Fat deposits in your body are a mechanism for storing energy during famine periods in human development. If your body suddenly stops receiving the calories it is used to, your metabolism will slow and you will burn less energy making it even more difficult to lose weight. A severe calorie restriction diet will work in the short term - though losing 3-5 inches will require a near-starvation level. However, once you stop dieting, it will bounce back VERY quickly and be even harder to lose again. You need to restrict your caloric intake to a reasonable level as part of an entire lifestyle change and lose inches over months, not weeks.
- to be honest..........one way to quickly lose inches off your belly is to rub preperatoin h on it, then wrap it tightly with saran wrap. make sure you sleep with this on, then unwrap the saran wrap in the morning and wipe off the excess preperation h with a dry towel. this is a method we use in the army for recruits that need to lose a quick inch before a physical. you can lose anywhere from 3 inches to none, so this is not guaranteed. good luck!
