How to lose inches

Does anyone know why?

I have been running to try and losed weight for a few months now. I have definitely lost inches off my STOMACh and upper body but for some reason I cant get much off my hips or thighs. I have ran pretty much every day like 2 miles or so. And I have always eaten healthy so thats not the problem, does anybody know what could be wrong?

  1. Try aerobic exercises specially made for the lower body.
  2. Fat turns into muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. Inches off are better than weight. But try to do Pilate's that helps to get the skin to go back with the body and you lose more that way Just incase you were wondering what to do with the extra folds that can occurr around the stomach area when training.
  3. Few months right? Those things around you hip has been there for probably years in few more months they will start to thin out too. Be prepared to buy new clothes:)
  4. Ask your nutrition specialist.
  5. Humans can't spot reduce, they can only build muscle in the areas that are seeing increased use. Sounds like you are loosing overall body fat and the energy is being used to build up the muscles in your legs. Try running less and doing resistance training on your upper body.
  6. well i know for sure that there is a device that is easy and fun its know as six second abs link no 1) straight from the manufactorer link no 2) from amazon (cheaper but bought new)
  7. I hate to break this to you, but there are some areas on the body that are more stubborn that others. And, this is somewhat gender-specific, too -- for men, the lower back and lower abs are generally the most stubborn areas for fat loss, and for women, thighs and hips. This is very common. Don't panic -- you will eventually lose there, if that's your plan. Just plan to be patient in the meantime and work hard. You'll get there.
  8. you need to do some lower body exercises!! its harder to loose the fat from the butt and hips!! but keep trying dont give up!! You will loose weight from down there its just harder!!
  9. muscles?
  10. You could have trouble getting rid of excess water weight that usually gets traps in those areas.......you may just want to take steps to increase your metabolism which should help with that........also dont mistake losing inches for losing weight, they're actually two different things, because you be gaining muscle for some reason, which could also explain the difficulty losing the inches in those areas
  11. It's OK to eat healthy but to lose weight off more areas of the body one must eat healthy but less of it----smaller meals, less protein, less fat, less sugars -----even eating too much fruit can be fattening
  12. Maybe you need a good muscle toning program, that is, a workout regime with weights. If it isn't your diet (you don't consume a lot of sugar, salt and flour), then maybe your muscles need toning. I'm also trying to work on my problem areas. I'm beginning to see a personal trainer to help customize a strength training/muscle toning program for me. I'm really excited. Now I know there isn't such a thing as a "perfect" body, but I can't wait to get mine in my own perfect shape! Good luck to you!
  13. With running as well as walking you build up muscles in your legs.
  14. Good..! Now you lost inches off upper part..! There are exersices for each part of the body. make sure you must not over do a perticular part...! for your thighs, you can start off with sit-ups (gradually atleast 100/day) For hips.., keeps your both hands up (90 degree) or keep a rod .. over your sholders and rest your hands on that... then.. slowely .. strech to the right side.. and then left side.. (gradually each side atleast 100/day) See if the difference in a month..! all the very best.. and keep fit..! :)
  15. Sounds like you lost overall fat. Now you need to isolate and target the areas that are resistant. Try skating 1/2 of your workout time and running the other half. Skating will help trim and tone those specific areas. Lunges and squat thrusts will also help target and redefine your hips and thighs.
  16. At first, building muscle and burning fat are completely differrent processes.Muscles can be built with anaerobic exercises (weight lifting etc) but burning fat...the only way is anaerobic exercises (jogging, walking, swimming with low, under 120, heart beats ). Of course , if your muscle system is very well exercised and the fat in your body is under 15% you can burn fat much more easier. Some athletes (sprinters etc) eat burgers and bacoon withour weightgaining because they have fat uner 15% in their body. As for your ass, this is your bodytype, you have a tedency to gain weight in the hips. That's good.I mean you re like JLo nt like Kylie Minogue.I like JLo!!! If you gain weight that should go firstly to your ass.If you start weight lifting or sprints or stairs you 'll see your ass gaining pure muscle and that will be sooo nice.So if your ass is already well muscled, why caring? keep up the hard work -gain muscle-burn fat. Also, you should exercise your upper bodly, mainly your shoulders, that will make your ass look great!!
  17. Try aerobic exercises specially made for the lower body.
  18. Everyone has different types of body.Maybe (tat's wat i think) yoga, pilates, kick boxing or gymnastics will work for u.
  19. go to the gym! they have machines for particular part of your body such as your thighs and hips. trust me that helps!!!
  20. My fifth grade teacher had the same problem. She was really bad around her hips and was trying to lose weight. She lost weight around her face and all but her hips were still large, and she looked kind of scary (no offense). To prevent this, try using different excercises that focus more in that area, like biking or swimming. Good luck.
