Losing pounds and inches in 7 weeks? Hi there, I am 5,4. and I am 128 pounds. My happy weight is 115 to 117. My aim is to lose 10 pounds in 7 weeks and a couple of inches on my waist and thighs. I plan to workout everyday for an hour- mostly cardio- swimming, eleptical machine or running. I am not too sure if I can eat totally well, but I will try:) Any other recommendations. Is losing 2 inches on hips and thighs and getting flat stomach doable in 7 weeks? Thanks!
Losing inches, not pounds? Ever since I had 2 weeks break from dance over the summer I gained 10 pounds, but now that it has started up again all my jeans are too big. When I step on the scale though I weigh the same (112) as I did right after the 2 weeks of no dancing. Why have I lost inches but not pounds?By the way it's not because of muscle because I have the same strength as I ever had.
Why am i losing pounds and not inches? I've lost 20 lbs. in 2 months. I currently weigh 258. I'm 5'4". The thing is I'm still in my same size clothes as when I started and I'm not losing any inches. I walk approx. 25 - 45 minutes 5 days a week. I eat a very clean diet (protein shakes, chicken, fish, lots of veggies, tons of water) I use stretch bands and lift 5 lb. weights about 3 or 4 days a week. Why am I not losing inches.
Losing inches but not pounds? I've always been eating healthy foods but I need to lose about 20 lbs. I recently stepped up my exercise (within the last 40 days) and have lost some inches but not pounds. I'm not a slave to the scale and I'm glad that my clothes are fitting better even though I'm not losing weight. I'm just wondering what is going on physically...how can be losing stuff but not weight??? What's going on in my body? I'm just trying to figure out the "mechanics" of it all! Anyone who knows anything about exercise physiology can add their two cents! (I'm looking for an actual explanation, not just you're gaining muscle and losing water weight etc).
Losing Inches? Does losing inches depend on how many pounds you lose? I'd like to lose at least four inches from my hip, how long would this take? What can I do? (I have about two spare hours a day and the only real exercise equipments I have are my jump rope and exercise ball)
Burning fat and inches without losing pounds and muscle? I started at a weight of 205 pounds, during the past month I have lost about 12 pounds (diet and excersise). I began limiting carbs as much as possible. Then weaned them back while adding strength training (pushups ect.), and light cardio (walking)(total workout time of 30 minutes, 4-5 days a week) The past two weeks I have implemented weights, replacing the pushups and various excercises I once did. I have also upgraded the walk to a jog.(total workout time 30-45 minutes, 5-6 days a week) I have noticed improvements in body tone. My midsection has been reduced but still not where I want it to be (which is the reason I began this in the first place). During the whole month I have consumed about 115g of protein a day and plenty of vitamins. I would like to continue to shed the fat, but not lose too much more weight and muscle. Should I adjust my routine or diet?
Losing Inches?? Here's the story: I was at 105 pounds with 32 inches. Now I'm at 130.5 pounds with 35 inches. I want to lose the weight I gained, and be at the same 32 inches I was last time. I was riding my bike for about an hour each day, and doing 30 sit ups after every meal. Unfortunately, I won't have time for bike riding, because I'm going to be incredibly busy this summer. If I lose weight, and do the sit ups, will I be at 32 inches?? Right now, I'm not losing weight(trying to...not working out), and doing sit ups. It looks to me like my stomach area is getting bigger...what the heck??! Also, I have the "thunder thigh" thing goin' on. And I hate it. I'm taking a "gym" class, and the coach is making us lift weights. I do about 50 pounds, two sets of eight. Is this too much?? I've noticed my legs are a big less jiggly, but I don't want them to be big. I want them to be thin and not jiggly...it really bothers me...How can I solve this problem?? I'm 5' 1 & 3/4" I don't eat fast food, fried foods, I rarely eat candy, I don't drink soda or coffee...I eat quite healthy
Losing inches and not pounds!!? so i started walking about a month ago i'm on my second month, i walk about 2.5 - 3.5 miles every morning and i love it, i drink nothing but water now i have lost inches and people have noticed that i am losing weight and i can tell b/c alot of my pants that were tight are really loose now and i tried on some pants that i tried on in the begining of the month before i started walking and they were really tight now i can put them on without a problem, this morning i weighed myself and the scale has stayed the same as when i started walking but my clothes even my underwear is loose, i don't care much for the scale as i am seeing the results in my clothes and others are noticing and that just makes me happy enough knowing that i am doing something right, but should i not care for the scale and it may fluctuate from time?? i am just so proud that i am actually losing inches..
Am I losing inches and not pounds? I have been in dance for three weeks now and after it's over my heart is racing and I am sweating bullets. I haven't really changed my eating habits but other people have noticed my stomach and face look a little thinner and I can even feel my pants aren't as tight around my waist anymore. However I 've been weighing myself and the scale is still the same as it was weeks ago. How is this possible or do I have a broken scale?

What Exercises to Use and How Long Will it Take to Lose the Inches / Pounds? I'm 18 years old, 5'4" and about 133 lbs. I have some extra meat on the back of my thighs right below my booty that I'd like to get rid of and as quickly as possible. I'm willing to work out as hard as I can and cut down on junk foods, fast foods, etc. I'm not so worried about pounds as I am with inches. I would like to know what are the best exercises to do and how often should I work out to see results quicker?
Lose inches and pounds in 50 days? I'd like to lose some weight, because i usually eat in a very healthy way but lately i guess (in a rewarding manner to myself, maybe? i can't believe my twisted mind actually thought that) i let myself indulge too much.. and therefore gained about 12 pounds in a month! O_o; I'm not overweight, but i'd feel much more comfortable with myself if i can manage to shed this nasty fat i gained due to neglecting my body. I can usually stick to a plan if i'm given one, and i'm very motivated. I'd like to lose at least 15 pounds, if not 18-23, in a span of 50-65 days from today. Is that even possible with hard work, a healthy diet and some excercise? And if it is, does anybody know a good plan i should follow? (please keep in mind i can only excercise at home, run, jog or walk, because i can't go to the gym right now) Thanks so much in advance!
Weight loss: Inches before pounds...? I started exercising and watching what I eat on October 28th; I do 200 sit ups and a 40 minute brisk walk every day--- My weight at the start was 204 lbs.---After 6 weeks, I feel better and can see a difference w/ my stomach flattening, and my clothes are fitting much better. But when I weighed myself yesterday, I was disappointed to find that I weighed 202 lbs...only a 2 lb. weight loss in 6 weeks...A friend informed me that it is quite normal to lose inches before pounds; Is this true?

Why am I not losing pounds? I have now been on a new diet and fitness regime for 3 weeks. I have noticed that I am definitely losing inches (I have gone from a comfortable size UK14 to a size UK12) but appear to have only lost 3lbs. I am 5.7" and weigh about 168lbs and would love to go down to 145lbs. I exercise 4 times a week, for about an hour at a time and am currently doing 2 sessions of cardio and 2 sessions of weights. I eat about 1400 calories a day. Now obviously I am happy with the inch loss but fail to undertand why the pounds aren't shifting. I know the science (muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space etc) but I can't understand why the pound loss is so slow. Am I destined to weigh 168lbs forever??!! Call me old fashioned but I like to see movement on the scales as well! Any ideas?
losing inches? not fat, well yea maybe fat, too. you see; im not fat i just have 1 inch of extra fat on my stomach, and my abs are hard and tight, but they won't show definition because of the fat. its around my belly button (the fat) like, under and the sides; it kinda looks like im always bloated. but i just want my waist to be 1 inch smaller without sucking it in(but i do that anyways)..are you supposed to suck it in, does everybody do it(even the athletes and celebs)? im 15, 105-108 pounds(its not alot, but i dont look realllly skinny.)and 5'3. my measurments for my stomach are: below the belly button=29.5in. just above my belly botton= 27.5 and 4.5in above my belly botton is 26.5 in. so i wanna be 26in instead of 27.5 and .5in everywhere else
Inches vs. pounds? I am wondering the comparison of pounds to inches. I know it probably varries from person to person, and that it depends on where the weight is actually being lost from. I am not so much worried about how many pounds I weigh or lose as apposed to how many inches my stomach is and how many inches I lose. Like how they say you can lose 5 pounds in about two weeks... so, how do inches compare to weight when measuring how long it will take to get to a goal measurement?
Need weight loss tips! I get home from work really late. I want to lose pounds and inches, any ideas? I just had a baby 8 months ago and my weight is way out there. I want to lose weight and exercise, but unfortunately my weight keeps me from being able to do the exercises I used to do (aerobics). What are some exercises I can begin with and then moderately increase? Also it is hard to just stop eating everything, what is a good way to begin slowly so that I don't give up easily on my new life style change.
How did I lose inches and not pounds without working out? I gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy, weighing in at 196 just before giving birth in May. I now weigh 185, which means I've only lost 11 lbs. but my daughter was 7lbs 5oz, plus the placenta, etc. I am about an inch away from my old jean size (size 5-6) and I haven't worked out at all, so how come I've lost so many inches with virtually no weight loss? I am not breastfeeding, tried but she wouldn't do it. I didn't work out at all while pregnant and I haven't worked out since. I honestly don't eat right, and haven't had the energy to work out. I am 5'7" so I guess I am pretty tall.
Is it possible to lose inches without losing a lot of weight? I've lost 2 1/2 inches off of my hips and stomach area, yet the scale says I've only lost twelve pounds. Does that sound right to you? Is it possible to lose that many inches without losing a lot of weight? I wansn't overweight to begin with, I just wanted to wear a size 6/8, which fits nicely now. I'm an hourglass shape, by the way. And I'm 5 foot 8

Is losing inches, better or just as good as losing weight? I joined the gym and had been working out really hard. I have been eating healthy, and drinking water. I only lost two pounds, since September but I have lost inches. I am not going to give up, just keep working out 3 days a week and every weekend for an hour and half. I do a combination of weight lifting and cardio. What more can I do? What am I am wrong?
