Losing Inches?? Here's the story: I was at 105 pounds with 32 inches. Now I'm at 130.5 pounds with 35 inches. I want to lose the weight I gained, and be at the same 32 inches I was last time. I was riding my bike for about an hour each day, and doing 30 sit ups after every meal. Unfortunately, I won't have time for bike riding, because I'm going to be incredibly busy this summer. If I lose weight, and do the sit ups, will I be at 32 inches?? Right now, I'm not losing weight(trying to...not working out), and doing sit ups. It looks to me like my stomach area is getting bigger...what the heck??! Also, I have the "thunder thigh" thing goin' on. And I hate it. I'm taking a "gym" class, and the coach is making us lift weights. I do about 50 pounds, two sets of eight. Is this too much?? I've noticed my legs are a big less jiggly, but I don't want them to be big. I want them to be thin and not jiggly...it really bothers me...How can I solve this problem?? I'm 5' 1 & 3/4" I don't eat fast food, fried foods, I rarely eat candy, I don't drink soda or coffee...I eat quite healthy
Losing Inches? Does losing inches depend on how many pounds you lose? I'd like to lose at least four inches from my hip, how long would this take? What can I do? (I have about two spare hours a day and the only real exercise equipments I have are my jump rope and exercise ball)
losing inches? I'm really more interested in how many inches i lose rather than how much mass i lose. I want to lose 9 inches from my bust, 14 inches off my waist and 12 inches off my hips. This would bring my bust to 39 inches, waist to 30 inches and hips to 42 inches. How long do you think this would take using appropriate exercise and diet? Just your opinion, or personal experiences would be great! thanks!
Losing inches.? I'm 17 years old, 5'4 and weigh about 116-118. I don't want to lose anymore weight, considering that would make me under the average for someone like me. All I'd like to do is lose inches effectively. I do have muscle, I do muscle toning at night (I feel it the next morning, so I know it's working). The problem is, it doesn't show through because of a layer of fat. I'd like to lose merely 1 or 2 inches, but it seems so difficult. I've tried to do cardio at my local gym by riding the bicycle there for about an hour straight and I didn't see or feel any results. I also don't eat fatty foods and I watch my calorie intake and usually stay around 1200-1500 a day. Any advice would be helpful. I'm ready to get rid of this "pudge."

Losing Inches? I want to lose inches around my waist, thighs and hips/butt and tone my arms up... I don't really care all that much about the weight issue as I know that will happen with the cardio and diet I've got going (I am on the school swim team so I swim around 10 hours a week, and our coach is a nutritionist so we have pretty healthy diets) but I do want to shape up so I will look nicer in some of the formal dresses and the like for prom and for the summer (when it rolls around) I know its early, but it can't hurt to start early to try to prevent the dreaded holiday weight gain. Any suggestions for exercises I can do for these areas?
Losing inches? If I walk a quarter mile for my warm up than Jog one mile than walk another quarter or two quarter miles for my cool out. And I practice my self deffence (At some point I'm starting karate) how many inches will I lose by January? When I said inches I meant inches off of my waist, thigh, and calves. Losing inches? I would really like to be able to lose inches off of my thighs, does anyone know what works fast? I know that I will never have really small thighs b/c both of my parents have big thighs, but I would like to keep them as small as I can.
losing inches..? okay, i suppose this is sort of a two-in-one question.. 1. my measurements are 32/25/36.5....don't my hips seem a bit out of proportion? 2. and since i think they do, i know you CAN'T spot reduce, but does anyone have a good idea of how to tone/tighten/lose inches off your hips? MINE ARE HUUUUGE (after learning my measurements i am freaked out)
Losing inches? How much weight would you need to lose to go down an inch in your waist?
losing inches? i want to reduce my mid-drift.. what's the best and fastest exercise to take off inches ?
losing inches? not fat, well yea maybe fat, too. you see; im not fat i just have 1 inch of extra fat on my stomach, and my abs are hard and tight, but they won't show definition because of the fat. its around my belly button (the fat) like, under and the sides; it kinda looks like im always bloated. but i just want my waist to be 1 inch smaller without sucking it in(but i do that anyways)..are you supposed to suck it in, does everybody do it(even the athletes and celebs)? im 15, 105-108 pounds(its not alot, but i dont look realllly skinny.)and 5'3. my measurments for my stomach are: below the belly button=29.5in. just above my belly botton= 27.5 and 4.5in above my belly botton is 26.5 in. so i wanna be 26in instead of 27.5 and .5in everywhere else
losing inches but not weight...why? Iam 5'8, 185 pounds. I have only lost 5lbs in 2 months! But iam losing inches......how is that possible. I work out very hard 5-6 times a week and eat 5 small meals a day and the daily calorie intake to lose weight. What is going on, iam so ready to give up. I want to lose another 20 in 3 months but so far that is impossible at this rate. Can anyone tell me why i might be losing inches and not fat and if it really matters about weight?
Losing inches but not pounds? I've always been eating healthy foods but I need to lose about 20 lbs. I recently stepped up my exercise (within the last 40 days) and have lost some inches but not pounds. I'm not a slave to the scale and I'm glad that my clothes are fitting better even though I'm not losing weight. I'm just wondering what is going on physically...how can be losing stuff but not weight??? What's going on in my body? I'm just trying to figure out the "mechanics" of it all! Anyone who knows anything about exercise physiology can add their two cents! (I'm looking for an actual explanation, not just you're gaining muscle and losing water weight etc).
Why am I losing inches without trying? I'm not on a diet. I'm 5"5 and 110 pounds i have 110 for awhile now and all the time I felt like i was losing weight but i'm really not. I realized that i'm losing inches and i don't know why. I just want to know if anyone have any ideas on why I'm losing inches when I'm not doing anything. I don't exercise or nothing. I know when people stress they can lose weight and stuff and i thought that was it but I don't know. I want to gain my inches that I lost and gain more weight. I'm 18 years old
Losing inches and not pounds!!? so i started walking about a month ago i'm on my second month, i walk about 2.5 - 3.5 miles every morning and i love it, i drink nothing but water now i have lost inches and people have noticed that i am losing weight and i can tell b/c alot of my pants that were tight are really loose now and i tried on some pants that i tried on in the begining of the month before i started walking and they were really tight now i can put them on without a problem, this morning i weighed myself and the scale has stayed the same as when i started walking but my clothes even my underwear is loose, i don't care much for the scale as i am seeing the results in my clothes and others are noticing and that just makes me happy enough knowing that i am doing something right, but should i not care for the scale and it may fluctuate from time?? i am just so proud that i am actually losing inches..
losing inches not pounds? i have been taking apple cider vinegar complete and green tea supplements from gnc...is it possible that i'm losing inches instead of pounds? i have only lost about 4 lbs but my clothes are fitting a little better and my tummy looks flatter...also if this is happening, how do i start losing the pounds?
losing inches off my waist? i have a 31" waist and i wanna lose 3 inches off it, is it possible for me to lose it in 2-3 weeks without losing weight off my bust and butt?
losing inches but not much weight? 5 weeks ago I started a healthy eating and exercise plan to shape up for Christmas. I am trying to stick to 1200 cals per day. I don't count the calories obsessively but I know what I should and shouldn't be eating. I am not depriving myself of the odd square of chocolate and I am eating small and regular meals. Each week I am running outside for 40 mins (twice), doing a 1 hour weight training class (twice) and a 1 hour spin class at the gym (once). I must be doing something right as I am definitely losing inches as my tight jeans are no longer tight. However the scales are only showing a 4 lb loss and this is getting me down. I want to lose another stone but am finding the slow weight loss really depressing. Would really appreciate any ideas to speed things up!!
Is it possible to lose inches without losing a lot of weight? I've lost 2 1/2 inches off of my hips and stomach area, yet the scale says I've only lost twelve pounds. Does that sound right to you? Is it possible to lose that many inches without losing a lot of weight? I wansn't overweight to begin with, I just wanted to wear a size 6/8, which fits nicely now. I'm an hourglass shape, by the way. And I'm 5 foot 8

What is the difference between losing weight and losing inches? I've been working out and I've lost 6 lbs, and I notice a significant weight loss and saw some loss of inches in my waist; and I was going to go to a spa and I wanted to get a "European Body Wrap", and they have said that the body wrap doesn't make you lose weight, it just gets rid of inches. So what is the difference? I thought by losing weight you also lost inches, I didn't think they were two different things.
Losing weight fine...but how about the inches? Losing weight fine...but how about the inches? I am losing weight fine but i'n just wondering when i'm home and don;'t have ANY exercise equitment [getting soon] including dunbells...[didnt know how to spell that] how can i lose inches? what exercise's?
Losing Weight, NOT JUST INCHES? I'm thinking I'm not doing something right. I walk 1-5 miles a day (depending upon day), go to the gym 3x/wk and do treadmill, bike 1-3 miles at a very fast pace, and then swim a mile/56 lenghts. I even walked a 26.2 mile marrathon in September without issue. Here's the thing: I am NOT losing weight!!! I've lost inches, and my cholestorol levels have gone down 30 points (it's very high). I need the encouragement of looking at the scale and seeing the #s go down. My routine is to do 46 gms protein shake 6 a.m., omelett around 11:30, snack at 1pm, dinner around 5:30 (varies) and snack around 8pm (peanuts/fruit/nofat pudding). My BMI is still around 38 and I don't know what else to do! Any suggestions? thank you for your responses. The BMI # I got while filling in internet questions to 'buy my diet' websites. I used to be at a healthy weight, but then had 5 jaw surgeries (yes with jaws wired) over the last 3 years. The liquid dieting caused my system to be screwed up and I wound up gaining 60lbs once I could eat food. Here's the thing - I am for the most part vegetarian I'll eat chicken, eggs, and some white fish. The doctor said it's because my Cortisol levels were high and things would level out after my body stopped hording thinking I was starving myself... that was 8 mos ago. This weight is depressing. I know I'm getting healthier, and I enjoy working out as much as I do, it's just seems to be taking forever for results. I've been doing the additional workouts since January (the 3xs/wk ones)

Can you lose inches w/o losing lbs? I have been eating 6 small meals per day and doing aerobics and body sculpting with Gilad on Fit TV since Thanksgiving. My weight has gone from 245 down to 240.5 and now back up to 243 but I know that I am losing inches. My clothes are fitting looser. I feel great and will continue to stick to my plan but I don't understand why the scale keeps fluctuating!! I am a 37 year old mother of 2. I just had my 2nd baby 8 mths ago. I know women retain water and we have hormonal stuff to deal with but dang!!! Should I just go by the way my clothes feel or should I be worried about the fluctuating lbs?!

I weigh nearly 10 stone, and am about 5 foot 6, so really my weight is alright, but what is a good way to lose inches from the waist?

weight loss and losing inches? I weighed myself this morning as I do every Friday morning and I have gained 2lbs :( I also measure myself every Friday morning as well and I have lost 2 inches from waist, 3 inches under bust and 1 inch over bust. Is this not a lot to have lost inches wise in like a week?? I measure myself a couple of times to make sure I have got it correct each time so I know that it is correct/ yeah I have been working out at the gym but only recently started, been doing some resistance and also been doing at least 40 mins cardio 5 time per week.
Is losing inches, better or just as good as losing weight? I joined the gym and had been working out really hard. I have been eating healthy, and drinking water. I only lost two pounds, since September but I have lost inches. I am not going to give up, just keep working out 3 days a week and every weekend for an hour and half. I do a combination of weight lifting and cardio. What more can I do? What am I am wrong?

Losing inches, not pounds? Ever since I had 2 weeks break from dance over the summer I gained 10 pounds, but now that it has started up again all my jeans are too big. When I step on the scale though I weigh the same (112) as I did right after the 2 weeks of no dancing. Why have I lost inches but not pounds?By the way it's not because of muscle because I have the same strength as I ever had.
